031013 UNCONSCIOUS MUTTERINGS

Before I start muttering a sharing of the photo for today following the challenge from FMSPHOTOADAY:

0310: I want ... magical glass slippers and my own tiara just like Lucia's slippers and crown.

Is there anything more satisfying than twirling through the day in a pretty dress, make-up and hair perfectly done, and everything perfectly styled down to the smallest detail ... ahhh ... the magic of childhood when everything is possible on a spring day filled with sunshine.

I set my mind and smile a greeting to the day (even though I've been robbed of 1 hour of sleep at precisly 2:00 AM - LOL) enjoying a leisurely latte and then treat myself to an unbelievably beautiful walk through the neighborhood chatting with friends along the way, slowing for Miso to enjoy her sniffs along the way, and gather photos of blue skies against fields of pristine white snow shining so brightly I wear sunnies to help shield my eyes.

And now for the "mutterings."  I say ... and you think ... ?

Align: the edges of the patches for more precise piecing
Collar: I can not stand for a collar to be up close around my neck; a cowl neck style is best.
Orphan: I'm on the search for more orphan blocks that will fit in with my Christmas Sampler
Block Exchange quilt.
Program: I'm excited about the upcoming quilt guild program ... a century's worth of quilts.
Waves: I used to have nightmares about tidal waves while I was growing up. Our house was
just over 200 yards from the water's edge on the southern Oregon coast.
Accident: I wonder how many accidents are REAL accidents in our daily lives. Do you think our
lives are pre-ordained by the fates?
Offices: expensive part of owning/running your own business
Corrupt: Corruption in government is rampant and sickening.
Tears: sometimes they flow seemingly for no reason at all; reasons that make sense ... in joy, in sorrow, in frustration ... and other times just because ??? I'm peeling an onion ??? LOL
Family: the best (and sometimes but not very often the worst) part of life

030813 FRIDAY FILL-IN

And...here we go!
Life can be quite confusing and yet very satisfying all at the same time.

It started with one and then another and more kept falling and falling all around me, and then a little snowflake fell right on my eyelash.

I knew is was love when I first saw her bright black eyes and her little black wet cold nose. How would I ever make it without Miso in my life.

It's always amazing to me to have snow on the ground when we have sunshine and blue skies overhead. A rare day for something like that to happen in the Pacific Northwest but a common occurance here in New England.

A little nap is wonderful when the house is quiet and there's not a presence of chaotic energy.

On a cold winter day, a bowl of hot soup with crusty bread on the side is on of my favorite things to eat for dinner.

And as for the weekend, tonight i'm looking forward to quiet time in the studio after dinner, tomorrow my plans include some quality time with the kids at the BSO family concert, dinner at Legal Seafood, and then back to their house for playtime and babysitting while everyone else is off to Toby's performance of the David for Concerto Night at Faneuil Hall. And Sunday, I want to do some good cooking ahead for the week and start working on the newspaper art journals for the twins.

And today ... staying cozy and warm watching the snowflakes continue to keep falling -

022213 FRIDAY FILL-IN

And...here we go!
Paisly was big in the 70's but not so much these days. Maybe it's making a come-back with all the retro/vintage styling. It makes a great quilting design especially for whole-cloth quilting where you can really see the quilting design.

I really need to take the time to go searching while shopping to find just the right hat for the summer concert season - stylish and yet practical.

Where is the energy, focus and drive? I hate it when my "muchness" seems to fade.

I thoughts last week, "Will the pain and stiffness/swelling in my wrist never end? And then I went to see Becky, my acupuncturist, and now my wrist is almost back to normal. She is definitely a miracle worker!

Sometimes, less is tough to be satisfied with, but cutting back is easier when the container (bag, page, cup, plate, time increment) is smaller. It's a great way to fool they eye.

An amazing fact: I go years and years without every needing it and all of sudden it seems every new recipe I want to try is calling for Grey Poupon. You can find one of my favorites HERE.

And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching ARGO, tomorrow my plans include enjoying the live-streaming BSO concert on wghb.org, and Sunday I want to sit in my chair and read all day - ahhh, the height of an ultimate indulgence. Maybe I'll watch the HUNGER GAMES, too.

021713 UNCONSCIOUS MUTTERINGS

I say ... and you think ... ?
Schedule: do not box me in with a tight rushed schedule - immediate stress

Guest: thinking ahead and planning for when Betty comes at the end of the month

Stall: procrastinate, in a holding pattern, me at the moment

Cold: the weather still ... ready for spring temps (but not the mud)

Editorial: comments and asides - the chatter that lurks in my brain

Striped: Nancy pieced her striped blocks at quilting yesterday

Curtains: wonder about adding my red/white blocks to a white shower curtain rather than making a shower curtain quilt - could also add to the laundry area curtains - hmmm ... less blocks to make :)

Cramping: so hate night-time leg cramps; wish I knew what caused them and the best way to avoid having them.

March: a month of rebirth, renewal, refreshing ... begin again

Folder: I think the files and folders are getting more organized with my digi art supplies
