Kay Oft, teacher, designer, and longarm quilter, shares her passion for the art of quilting with students across the United States. Learning to quilt at a young age from her grandmother and mother, it seemed only natural for Kay to pursue her dream career in the field of quilting after retiring from teaching school thirty-two years.
No matter whether the topic at hand is piecing or quilting, Kay enjoys sharing her love of the craft and art of quilting with beginning and advanced students alike. She encourages them to enjoy and find inspiration as they express themselves in the creative process. Kay teaches her students to hone their skills as they master a variety of techniques, and to relax as they celebrate the world-wide community of quilters honoring the legacy of our ancestors in this treasure chest of unlimited possibilities called quilting.

“No man is an island and neither is any quilter! Whatever would I do without the tireless piecing of samples by my friend Juanita, and the willing guinea pigs and testers of my crazy, wild, hair-brained ideas – my piecer friends the Scrappy Sisters and my longarm friends the Statler Sisters.”
“And, last but not least, a big thank you goes to my husband for believing in me in all my endeavors.”
